Last week the national Skills Finals Dairy Farming took place. Not one but two (!) Wellant students ended up at the podium: Martijn Verburg became Dutch champion Dairy Farming and Joost Versluis was awarded the third prize.
The national skills competition Dairy Farming was held for the first time. The finals took place March 7-9 at Veenweiden Innovatiecentrum (VIC) in Zegveld, Netherlands.
Vocational students attending different colleges fought in the finals to be rewarded with the highest honour. During a period of three days the competing students had to show their craftmanship regarding different elements including milking, calculating an optimal feed ration, hoof trimming, and installing a fence.
After three exciting days, Martijn Verburg became Dutch champion Dairy Farming 2017. Fellow Wellant student Joost Versluis received the third price.
Congratulations to both, we are very proud of their achievements!
